CURIOSITIES OF ADVERTISING. The readers of American newspapers often meet with singular advertisements. We once purposed forming a collection of such, but like many another good intention, we failed to carry it out. We have rarely met with an odder specimen than tho following, which recently appeared in a Chicago paper : WANTED, —A hand to hold mine own, as. down life’s vale I glide; wanted an arm to lean upon, forever hy.inyside.—Address, Miss Emma H., Haudlin, Chicago P.O. A few days afterwards, the following appeared in reply, and it is to be hoped the well-matched couple got united : V I HAVE a hand for Amtna H., ’tia hanging by my side, but willingly with her will hitch, and down life’s vale will glide.—Address Tippoo Saib, Chicago P.O.
