I The Stud. TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON, IN THK MATAURA, GORE, and FORTROSK DISTRICTS, should sufficient inducement offer, THE PUKE-BBED CIiYDBSDALE STALLION SIR COLIN-PRINCE! I Sic Colin-Prince, foaled in December, 1879, was bred by Robert Muib, North Taieri. He is a beautiful dark bay, standt 16§ hands high, with fine symmetry, splendid action, and fine mild temper. Sire, the Champion Sire of New Zealand, is a bright bay, 10^ hands high. Sire, Prince Charlie ; dam, Princess Maud the First (imp.) Prince has gained many first prizes, and hi? stock cannot be surpassed. The Kyneton Agricultural Society awarded four of his yearlings first prize for the best four yearlings, competing ngainst stock of two imported horses ; and in New Zealand, horses sired hy him have beaten all the importer horses at the Dunedin, Taieri, and Christ, church Shows. His stock has brought highei prices lhan those of any other horse in Ncvv Zealand, and as an example it may be mentioned that during the pas^t year Mrs Nimmc has sold over £1500 worth of Prince's get, For purity of breeding he is not equalled iz the Colony, for, as will be seen by the pedigrees and list of honors, both his sire and dam are descended from horses of the best strains of Clydesdale blood, and both were famous prize-takers in Scotland and Victoria. At a recent National Show in Victoria, a yearling filly by Prince gained first prize. Prince also took first prize at the Waikouaiti aud Shag Valley Shows of 15 72 and 1873, and the first prize at the Blueskin A. and P Society's Show, 1873. At the Taieri Agricultural Society's Show, 1882, a yearling fillj by Prince was awarded first prize for tht best mare or filly in the yard, competing against agel mares, and on the same day g brood mare, mother of two fillies by Prince carried off the first prize for the best marc and two of a progeny. Nell's sire, Glasgow Geordie, by Champion, out of A. Warnock's Maggie. Champion, better known as Kiiburnie Champion, bred by Mr Fleming Auchenbowie. G-sire, Prince Charlie, dark bay, foaled 18of>, of the pure Clydesdale breed, imported from Scotland by J. and M. Mackintosh where he had been exhibited seven 1 times and gxined seven First Prizes. He gained the prize of £15 at the Highland and Aprl cultural "Society's Show at Glasgow, in 1857 against thirty others, He was bred by M] Anderson, Drummore. In Victoria, Prince Charlie gained First Prize at the Gisborm Exhibition. 1858, the P. P. F. Society's Firsi Piize of £20 and Champion" Cup in 1559 18G0, and 1862. Since that time he has uoi been shown. The progeny of Prince Charlii have taken prizes in every part of the colony Prince Charlie, out of Tibby, the property oi Mr Anderson, Drummore. Tibby won ovci twenty prizes in her time, and waa nevci beaten but once, and then only by her owr dam. Dam of Prince, Princess Maud First, Bay, foaled August, 1853 (imported from Scotland by J. and M. Mackintosh). In Scotland Princess Maud gained 18 prize3j including a Silver Medal in Glasgow, when n three-year-old, against all ages. The sams year she gained the Prize of the Highland Agricultural Society held at Inverness ; she also gained First Prize at Dumbarton two years in succession. In Victoria she gained First Prize at Gisborne, 1858 ; Port Phillip Farmers' Society's First Prize, 1859, 1860, 1861 and 1862 ; also Gippsland Agri^ cultural Society's First Prize in 1863 and 1864. Bred by William Park., Esq. Dalmuir, Dumbartonshire ; sire, Scotchman, the property of James Salmon, Esq., Renfrewshire, Her dam has bred several good horses, including the famous horse Rob Roy.
