The above sports were held in a paddock near the Mandeville Hotel, Monday was anything but cheerful. yet there must have been nearly a hundred people present, JJo doubt this number would have been largely augmented had the weather been ■ favorable. The day was not favorable to the consumption of fruit and con- ! fectionery, so thasb the vendors of such •' articles did riot make a fortune, IVEr I JJoche, however, appeared to do a
;j thriving. trade, without in any marked decree exciting pugnacious qualities among his customers.
