CHATTON CONCERT AND BALL.
" HONOR TO WHOM HONOR 18 DUE." TO THE EDITOR. Sir. — In your report of the above entertainment in aid of the Benerolent Institution and Southland Hospital' in Tuesday's issue of the Ensign you deservedy gave the prime mover of the above his fair share of credit, but you forgot to mention his name ; I therefore make bold to ask you to allow me to d.sulose it. Jlr H. Fryer, storekeeper, of Chatton is tha gentleman who took all the trouble in connection with the gcttißg up of the entertainment, aud had one or two more settlers aided him in his laudable undertaking I am quite sure the concert, etc., would have been a decided success. However, I trust all of us will take the hint and lend our assistance the next time we are called upon. One item I xvould i most particularly to draw special attention to is that r.ot one member of the Blue | Ribbon Army contributed even to the extent of buying a ticket for either concert or bail ; some of their number replied when applied to for the purchase of a ticket, th»t " they subscribed regularly annually." I should like to know how many such subscribers exist in the district ; very few I fear, if any. — I am, etc., SUUM GUIQDE TRIBUTO. Ohatton, 12th November, 1881.
