PARLIAMENTARY GOSSIP.
[By Tklegkaph.] (From our Special Correspondent.) Wellington, Thursday evening. In Committee of Supply this morning Sir J. Yogel stated that in regard of the item of LlOOl) placed on the supplementary estimates under the heading of "Industrial Exhibition," the first New Zealand Exhibition /under the proposals mentioned in the Financial Statement would take place at Wellington during the next session of Parliament. From the amount of important business still on the Order Paper and the way in which various questions were debated in the House yesterday, it seems improbable that the prorogation will take place next Saturday as arranged by the Government. A lai - ge number of members are leaving on Friday, but the usual quorum of Wellington and other men will again be at hand and allow the proceedings to run out the natural course of Parliamentary events. Mr Montgomery, M.H.R.. of Akaroa, left for Lyttelton yesterday afternoon en route for England.
