His ttuck has brought higher prices than those of any other horse in New Zealand, and as an example it may be mentioned that during the past year Mrs NIIIMO has sold over £1500 worth of Prince's get. For purity of breeding he ia not equalled in the Colony, for, as will be seen by the pedigrees and list of honors, both his sire and clam are descended from horses of the best strains of Clydesdale blood, aud both were famous prize-takers in Scotland and Victoiia, At a recent National Show in Victoria, a yearling iilly by Prince gained first pme. Prince also took first prize afc the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley Shows of 1872 and 18713, and the first prize at the Blucskin A. and P. Society's Show, 1873. At the Taieri Agricultural Society's Show, 1882, a yearling iilly by Prince was awarded firet prize for the best mare or filly in the yard, competing against age.l mares, and on the aame day a brood mare, mother of tw« fillies by Prince, carried off the first prize for the beat mare and two of a progeny. Dam, Bell ; granddam, Nell ; g-granddara, Maggie Lauder ; g-g-granddam, Blanche ; g-g-g-granddam, Dr Wilmore's Flower. Bell's sire, Sir Colin, ©ne of the purest bred Clydesdales ever imported. Nell's sire, Glas. gow Geordie, by Champion, out of A. Warnock's Maggie. Champion, better known as Kilburnie Champion, bred by Mr Fleming, Auchenbowie. G-sire, Prince Charlie, dark bay, foaled 1855, of the pure Clydesdale breed, imported fiom Scotland by J. and M. Mackintosh, where he had been exhibited seven times j and gained seven First Prizes. He gained the prize of £15 at the Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Glasgow, in 1857, against thirty others. He was bred by Mr j Anderson, Drummore. In Victoria, Prince Charlie gained First Prize at the Gisborne Exhibition, 1858, the P. P. F. Society's First Piize of £20 and Champion Cup in 1859, 1860, and 1862. Sines that time be has not been shown. The progeny of Prince Charlie have taken prizes in every part of the col«ny. Prince Charlie, out of Tibby, the property pf Mr Anderson, Drummore. Tibby won orer twenty prizes in her time, and was never beaten but once, and then only by her own dam. Dam of Prince, Princess Maud First. Bay, foaled Augnst, 1853 (imported Irom Scotland by J. and M. Mackintosh). In Scotland Princess Maud gained 18 prizes, including a Silver Medal in Glasgow, when a three-year-old, against all ages. The same year she gained the Prize of the Highland Agricultural Society held at Inverness j she also gained First Prize at Dumbarton two years in succession. In Victoria she gained First Prize at Gisborne, 185S ; Port Phillip Farmers' Society's First Prize, 1859, 1860, 1861 and 1862 ; also Gippsland Agricultural Society's First Prize in 1863 and 1864. Bred by William Park., Esq. Dalmuir, Dumbartonshire ; sire, Scotchman, the property of James Salmon, Esq., Henfrewshire. Her dam has bred several good horses, including the famous horse Rob Roy.
