Medical. (From Capfc. Kennedy, U.S.S. Co.'s Hauroto Port Chalmers, Feb. 7, 1883. Dear Sir, — Thanks for the medicine you were kind enough to send me. I have only to say that in my case — a severe attack of neuralgia in the head — it affoided me considerable relief. It has also the advantage of not being in the least nauseous, like most remedies. — I remain, dear sir, yours faithfully, A. Kennedy. Caledonian Hotel, Dunedin, Dec, 13, 1883. Dear Sir, — It is with great pleasure that I can testify to the succesa of your New Zealand mixture for curing neuralgia in the cases of myself,: a daughter, and sister ; it cured us in a few hours,' and without any recurrence of the complaint. — Yours truly, HELEN Infield. ; WHOLESALE AND DETAIL. SOME paitents suffering from nervous affections are afraid from sheer bashf ulness j and modesty to PeksOnally consult a mcd- ! ical man— other patients have not the self- ! possession and coolness when in the consult- ; ing room, to accurately describe their symptomß,their habits of life, and the nature of the disease they suffer from. Let such persons (he or she) sit quietly ; down in the privacy of their ©wn apartments, and with calm minds describe clearly each symptom of their case; a clear statement thus written, and laid before me, is far preferable in NERVOUS diseases to a personal consultation. Where, however, a disease is of a peculiar and exceptional character, a personal consultation may become necessary ; but my success in correspondence is so great, that o£ the thousands upon thousands whom I have treated by letter during the last 32 years, not . a single mistake has ever occurred, not a case has ever been made public— in fact, the very simplicity of my system of correspondence prevents publicity, At the same time medicines are sent to my patient? in such a form as to defy detection. How many thousands have I not brought joy to 1 How many have been enabled to enter into the marriage state through consulting me 1 How many after marriage have privately consulted me and been blessed, and their married lives made fruitful and happy ? How many wasted ruined youths of both sexes have also been restored to health, and thanked their manhood, for having consulted me by letter ? How many questions arise where the family , physican is unable to unravel the case, and ! where often the patient lingers on, not daring to tell his family medical adviser the nature of his complaint, until consumption, wasting, or , mental diseases set in, and the sufferer gets beyond the curable stage, and is left a hopeless wreck ? A letter written in the privacy of the room and dropped in the post box reaches me quietly ; the answer is returned as quietly . and unostentatiously, and the patient, with--1 out stepping from his chamber, except to • post his letter, is by return of post put in full possession of tho nature of his case. His hopes are raised, bi« doubts removed and he is comparatively a new man ; in fact, in many cases, a new being altogether. ; The only addition to the ordinary written letter is the age, occupation, habits and aymptoms, nothing more. The usual consult- | ation fee of one Ll (one pound) must be '. enclosed, otherwise no answer will be re- '| turned. j There are thousands of cases in daily life ', where a consultation with one at a distance, ' will remove by a single letter a gr«at fear, a : great care, and it often solves what appears ; as an impenetrable mystery. Many a sad : heart has been made joyful on receipt of an explanatory letter from me. i To those who are about to marry, I would say consult me before doing so, and thus pre- ; vent many after troubles, and remove many unnecessary fears and prejudices j to those , more especially who have yeilded to their ' passions. To these I say, at once, consult [ with me, do not tarry, delays arc dangerous, 1 and as an expert, my time may not be always ' ?t your service, you can, by simply enclosing '■ one pound, have the benefit of my experience 1 in the same manner as if I l'vcd in your own ; town, and with the additional advantage of thorough privacy. — Yours truly, LOUIS L. SMITH. Address DR. L. L- SMITH, [ 182 COLLINS STREET EAST, L Melbourne. I CONSULTATION FEE, BY LETTER, Ll. . , Fee for personal Consultation, Ll la. = The latter is inclusive of Medicine. ?
