' ■• r Rangiora, July 7, ISBI. ■ Sib, — Having carefully examined yotiij '.Herbal Extract;' I find it to be a skillfully prepared -vegetable preparation, possessing the properties of the plants from which it is; derived in a highly concentrated state, a fact which I haveverilied by evaporating a fluid drachm placed in a watchglass over a spirit lamp. On weighing the result, a dark green : extract, I found the weight to be 14£ grs. 1 On further submitting the extract to analysis^ I found it to be rich in tannin. After a fortnight's trial not only \ had the diarrhcea stopped, but she com-: menced eating meat without pain and the i usual concomitant vomiting. In two months she had gained 181bs. weight, Case No. 2 : A. G — :— , child aged 5 years. Fortnight diarrhoea. Was effectually cured on the third day.
