A CHANGE OF FRONT.
To the Editor. Sir, —I regret to notice that Mr Dodson’s opinions on education have undergone a complete change. The wind must surely now be blowing from a different direction than it was during the last election, when this amiable gentleman opposed Mr Seymour on the *• Curtis clause ” of the Education Act, and accused| that gentleman of
attempting to favor the Catholics. On Monday night I found Mr Dodson plainly exhibiting the thin end of the wedge by stating that he would never again vote for a candidate who would support only one school in a place like Blenheim. That can only mean that this local chameleon would now desire to see a Catholic school and a Protestant school, both receiving State aid, established in the town. His henchman, the blatant Fitzwilliam, will doubtless give powerful assistance to his leader in the giddy whirls which characterise his opinions, but the Catholics are strong enough and respectable enough to do without the aid which only comes when votes are wanted.—l am, &c., Haw.equin.
