BLENHEIM VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.
A MKKTixc of the above Brigade was held last Tuesday evening in the Council Chamber, Mr Farmar in the chair. There were about twenty members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary read the names of 24 additional members procured by the canvassing Committee, bringing the total strength to over 40. Mr Bythell was elected Captain of the Brigade, and Mr Falconer, Lieutenant. It was resolved that the officers elected appoint the remainder of the officers, and draw up rules to submit to a meeting to be held ou Tuesday next in the Brigade-room, Alfred-strcet. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Fire Brigade Trustees, informing them of the formation of the Brigade, and requesting them to hand over the plant, &c., to the Brigade. The meeting then adjourned.
