BLENHEIM BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Wednesday, December 15. A si’f.itai. meeting of the Borough Council was held at noon on Wednesday for the purpose of installing the Mayor. Present —-His Worship the Mayor, and Councillors Robinson, Rogers, Sinclair, and Litchfield. The minutes of the previous meeting were taken as read. It was moved and seconded that C’r Robinson take the chair. This being carried the Chairman said the only business was the very pleasing one of installing their worthy Mayor who had been again elected. He moved that this be done. Cr Litchfield seconded, saying that they were all very glad to see their worthy Mayor again presiding. There was no necessity to make a long speech. The Mayor then made the customary declaration on taking office, and said lie begged to take the opportunity of returning his most sincere thanks to the ratepayers for having re-elected him, and for the confidence reposed in him by the burgesses and the Council. It made the duties of the office light to have such cordial support as had been accorded to him and he felt greatly obliged to the members of the Council for their advice and assistance. This being the only business the Council adjourned until Monday next, on which day the matter of the approaches to the new bridge at York Terrace will be further considered.
