HAVELOCK BOARD OF WORKS.
Tun Board met on Monday, November Bth. Present —Messrs Morrison, Perry, Alexander, ami J. H. Smith, sen. (Chairman.) The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was road from Mr Mills relative to forming anil metalling Nicholson-strect, anti the Board instructed the Clerk to acknowledge the receipt of the letter, and to inform Mr Mills that they would see to the matter at the next monthly meeting. The following tenders were received for forming and gravelling Lawrence-strest; —William V illiams L3O 10s, William Farnell L 37, G. C. McGlashan L4O, Hughes and Hippolite L4G Ids, James H. Smith L 39 4s Gd, Thomas Brown L2!) 17s Gd, William Corkhill L3S 10s (informal.) The following resolutions were passed:— That the lowest tender be accepted conditionally that Mr Brown do sign the contract to complete the work in one month from this date. Should Mr Brown refuse to sign that the next lowest tenderer be asked to take the work on the same-terms. That fresh tenders he called for fencing the embankment near Mr Barrett’s. That the Clerk telegraph to 'Wellington for 300 feet of six-inch piping, 100 feet three-inch do., six Gin. T and six Gin elbows. The following accounts were presented and passed for dayment:—Thomas Brown, cartage, gravel &0,,Ll 3s fill, John Robinson, road-work, L2 Ss Gd, Eliza Davidson, charitable aid, L2. The Board then adjourned until Monday, the loth instant.
