The following are the acceptances for the Melbourne Cup : —Fau Bias, British Workman, Lothair, Banter, Wandering Jew, Grand Flaneur, Avernus, Geraldine, Mata, The Stag, Columbus, Nappcr Tandy, Progress, So ith Hamilton, Respite, Darriwell, Adventurer, Nellie, P-wnh' ’or, Imperial, Trevallyn, Stockbridge, Wo.Viands, Richmond, Bosworth, Riverton, Elastic, Seem'd* us Lord Burghley, Lord Lisgar, Chester, Martindale and Auckland.
Mata is now being backed at 100 to 5 for the Cup. October 15.
The following additional acceptances for the Cup are announced: Mater (First Water ?) Rivalry, Rothschild, and Totalisator. The total final acceptances jiro 37. CANTERBURY CUP.
