PARLIAMENTARY.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) [By Telegraph.] Thursday Evening. The Representation Bill, hi ought down to-night, provides that after the dissolution or expiry of the present Parliament, the House of Representatives shall consist of 90 members, in addu on to four Maori members. The Colony is to be divided into 89 electorates, and new rolls to be made up within 30 days after he Act comes into operation. For the purpose of forming new rolls the following provisions shall have effect :—Electoral rolls in force on the day when the Act comes into opea.'tiou shall he tho rolls from which the new rolls shall be formed, and the Registrar shall place on tho new roll the name of every elector registered on an electoral roll, whose qualification in respect of freehold estate o. residence is within the district for which such roll is formed ; provided that if an elector on the original roll is registered in respect of freehold estate, situate in two or more districts the Registrar may, in forming new rolls, omit the name of such ebetor from the roll of either one or more electoral districts in which such elector may not appear to the Registrar to have sufficient electoral qualification. The provisions of the 7th to the 25th Sections of the Registration of Electors Act, 1879, both inclusive, shall not apply to any roll formed under this Act. Except for the purpose of givfng effect to this Act, no name shall be added to, or placed upon the electoral roll formed und this Act, after it comes into operation, until the expiration of the time limited for the return of writs at the general election upon the expiration or dissolution of the present Parliament. Except where the provision of the Act is inconsistent, or express provision is otherwise made, every roll formed under this Act shall be deemed to have been formed under the Regulation of Electors Act, 1579.

MARLBOROUGH ELFCTORAL DISTRICTS. Picton. —One member. This district is bounded towards the North and East by the sea‘ from Elaine Bay in Tennyson Inlet to the mouth of the Wairau Rives; towards the South by the Wairau River and Tophouse Creek to where the road from Nelaon crosses the latter; thence towards the West by a right line to Ben Nevis, Mount Rintoul, Mount Richmond, Dun Mountain, Saddle Hill, Mount Duppa, Eastor Peak, Elliott Peak, Mount McLaren, and the summit of the watershed to Elaine Bay, the starting point, together with Arapawa and other adjacent islands.

Wairau. —One Member. Bounded to; wards the North by the Nelson Electoral district ; towards the East by the sea ; towards the South by the Conway river to its source ; thenee by a right line due West to the Clarence river, and by that river to the Northern shore of Lake Tennyson, and a right line from the nearest point of the latter to the summft of Mount Princess s thence towards the North-west by a right line to the Wairau Gorge ; thence by a right line from peak to peak along the hill; forming the Eastern watershed of the Upper Wei ran river and a right line from the nearest point to the mouth of the Top House creek. Cheviot. —One Member. — Bounded towards the North by the Wairau Electoral district ; towards the East by the sea to the nioush of the river Ashley; towards the South by the said river Ashley to the Eastern side of the road forming the Eastern boundary of Run No, 11 ; thence by the latter boundary to the East bark of the Waimakariri ; thence by that river and

Eastern boundary of Run No. IT4 to the summit of Mount Grey ; thence by a ridge to Mount Karetn ; thence by Runs 105, 100, and IGS, to the South branch of the Waipara river ; thence towards the South by that river to its source ; thence by the right line to Block Hill ; thence by a right line to the source of the river Ashley aforesaid ; thence towards the East by that river tojthe confluence of the river Townsend ; thence by a right line passing over the summit of Oxford Hill to the river Waimakariri, and towards the West by the Waimakiriri and Boulter rivers, and by a right line from the source of the latter to a saddle between Hurunui and Tereinakau rivers; and thence towards the Northwest by a right line to the summit of the mount of the Princess, together with adjacent island.

Tuesday, 11 a.m, The House sat till three o’clock this morning, the Deceased Wife’s Sister Marriage Bill being in Committee. Its passage was blocked by a minority at every point, but eventually it was arranged to allow it to pass, on the understanding that the third reading would take place on Thursday next, at which the opposition would be renewed. The House sits to-day at 11 a.m.
