MARLBOROUGH ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
The adjourned general meeting of tlie above Society was held at the Club Hotel on Saturday afternoon, Joseph Ward, Esq. in the Chair. The minutes of tbs’ previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary produced the following balance sheet, which was adopted : Nov. 11th, 1579. Statement of Receipts by tlie Secretary. Received from Treasurer, L4O 9s 3d : Do T. O’Sullivan. LG ; Refund, Air Wolford’s account, 5s 9d ; 16 members at LI, LIG; One ditto, L 5. Total, LG7 15s. Nov. Uth, 1879. Paid by the Secretary:—Paid into Bank. LIG ; Paid to Nelson Society, L2O 7s ; Paid Dunedin Socihty, £2O; Wolford’s account, LI 5s 9d ; Expenses of Nelson fish, LI Gs ; Times 11s 3d, Express L 4 4s, Telegrams ss, Stamps 2s, Elheok 10s, Edwards 4s, Elheek 5s Gd. Welford’s account LI 5s Oil, Robinson Bros. L 4 10s, D. Wemyss 17s Gd, S. Johnson L 4 Gs, Robinson Bros. LI 10s sd. Total, L 77 10s 2d. Receipts as per Statement LG7 15s. Deficit L 9 15s 2d‘ Liabilities Due to Secretary L 9 15s 2d, Do Riley L2 Bs, Do Times L2 9s 9d. Total, Ll 4 2s 1 Id. Examined and found correct, 10th April, 18S0, H. P. Alacklin.” The Secretary said as regarded the Times
account, Mr Tait had promised a subscription of LI, which reduced that account to Id 93 9d. The following statement of the Treasurer was adopted :—:'' Marl bprp’tigl! Balance L 5 17s 9d. Total, LSG 4s lid. Cyrus Coulter, Treasurer. Examined and found correct, H. P. Macklin'.” Mr Macklin read the annual report. (This was published in our issue of Tuesday last, when it was before the Committee)
The report was adopted with the following verbal alterations :—The words, “ the suhsetiption of LI per year will for the future entitle a member to a license for shooting without further charge ” were substituted for those previously inserted. The following words were added, “ Thanks are also due to Mr Draper for the assistance he has given to the Society by supplying food to the young trout.”
The meeting then proceeded to the election of officers. The following were elected :—Chairman, Mr J. Ward ; Vice-Chair-man, Mr J. R. W. Cook ; Treasurer and Secretary, Mr Joseph Redwood ; Extra Committeemen, Messrs Paul, Macklin, Winatanley, Gculter, John T. Robinson, and Hodson,
Thanks wore voted to the Secretary and other officers for their past services, and the meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the Chairman,
