PELORUS ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the above Board was held on Wednesday last. Present—Alessrs Dive (Chairman) Cullen Hughes. Kennington and Lambert. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following resoultions were then passed : That in consequence of tho death of the late auditor, the Secretary advertise for' a fresh one. That in reply to the Chairman of the recent meeting at Mahakipawa (Mr A. S. Duncan), the Board begs to assure him that the work on the Mahakipawa road will be put in hand as soon as possible. ' That Mr Brownlee be written to in reference to the fencing he is about to erect near Flat Creek, requesting him to keep at least half a chain from the centre of the present road. The Board will support an exchange of roads where it can he dyne. That the Spring Creek, Omaka, and Wairau Boards be written to asking their co-operation in clearing some of the largest stones from the Opawa and Wairau riverbeds from Kaituna to Remvick, and Kaituna to Spring Creek, this Board paying one fourth the cost. That permission be granted to the Pelorus Sawmill Company to erect their mill at the Black Ball, near the present line of road. That a sum not exceeding £B, he granted by the Board towards a bridge on the road to Mrs Smith’s in the Kaituna, the work to be under the inspector’s supervision. That the Board adjourned until Wednesthe sth day of Alay, ISSO.
