[FROM OUR WELLINGTON CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. The Wellington Volunteers who take part in the Easter Encampment at Christchurch, leave by the Hinemoa and Stella to-night, and comprise 256 men, exclusive of 159 from Nelson, and 60 from Wairarapa. Some 30 of the unemployed will be sent to Murimotu by the Storn bird to-day, which goes to Wanganui.
AUCKLAND. Thursday. Considerable excitement was c reated at the Orakci meeting to-day, by the arrival of Ngapuhi Ngakaura from Parihaka, who says the road will never meet, and a climax will occur on the Plains if the lines meet. The Maorics lose faith in Te WhitiTauwhhinga, who bet a Ngapuhi chief horses that the road will bo made through.
Molloy, au immigrant, died in the quarantine grounds to-day. The Orakei Maori Parliament passed a strong resolution, condemning Government for the delay in the trial of the Taranaki prisoners. Thomas Hoskins, a clerk in the railway
department, charged with _ embezzlin' money, was committed for trial at Vel
dngton. A prisoner named Amoore, while workiug with the gang, was killed by a, fall of earth, completely crushing his skull, causing instant death. He was excavating at the time, and undergoing 12 months for stealing.
DUNEDIN. Thursday. The Medical Association have resolv- d that in the opinion of the Society it is unprofessional and improper that any member should keep open a shop or sell druggists’ sundries, and advertise fees.
CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday. Twenty debtors received their discharge at the Supreme Court yesterday. A large number of Volunteers have arrived, but the weather is very unsettled, rain having having fallen all the week. The schooner Saxon still lies in the same position, and the sea is breaking over her. Some of the Dunedin Naval threatened to return home yesterday if drier ground was not given them to camp on.
