AGRICULTURAL RETURNS.

CENSUS DISTRICT OF MARLBOROUGH. The Returns of land in cultivation and the agricultural produce thereof for the above District, taken in February last, have been furnished to the Government by the Superintendent Collector, Mr J. J. In grasses, after having been broken up, including such as are in hay, 3,302 acres; grass sown lands, not previously ploughed, including such as are in hay, 7,791 acres. In potatoes 407 acres, estimated gross produce in tons, 1,964; in other crops 490 acres. Total number of acres under crop, including sown grasses 12,971 acres. Quantity of last years grass crop remaining on hand wheh the form was made up 59bushels wheat, 4 bushels oats. Holdings of one acre or less in extent, or gardens attached to residences are not included in the Returns, nor are fractional parts of acres (except quarters, halves, or three-quarters), or of measures of produce.
