STOCK SALES.

WESTFIELD. At die Westfield sale on Wednesday there was a heavy yarding of all classes of stock. Beef was in excess of re<iuirements and values dropped by. 2s per 1001 b. Though fat and young calves were in large numbers competition was keen for all goodcualitv vealers. There was a good demand for sheep and lambs in extra large numbers met with a good sale. Possibly owing to haymaking and the approaching holiday season there was only a small yarding and a moderate attendance of buyers. Neither dairy cattle nor sheep were represented, only four lines of beef cattle-and a few pigs being .'-old. Prices were:—Beef cattle: Large fat steers, £5 10s: to £6 ss; fat heifers, £3 I.os to £4 17s Gd; fat cows, £3 5s to M 2s; store cows, £1 5s to £1 14s. Pigs: Weanerjs; 1.2 sto 18s; slips, £1 toV£l 2s Gd. MORRINSVILLE. The Farmers' Auctioneering Co.'s Morrinsville yards were not half tilled oi Friday when the usual fortnightly sole was held. There was a fail' number of beef cattle and of sheep, but other classes of stock were in verv small numbers. Sheep sold fairly well, but there was a noticeable'drop in beef, £7 18s being the highest figure obtained. CLAUDELANDS. At the Farmers' Auctioneering Claudelands sale on Thursday therewas a good entry of beef, pigs and store cattle, with a small yarding of fat -sheep. Practically the whole of the yarding changed hands at prices equal to late sales.
