SPORTS AND PASTIMES.

CROQUET. A party of ladies from Te Aroha visited the Matamata club last week and .stayed over several days. The wet weather prevented play for two days but ultimately the visitors were rewarded with a good game. ROWLING. Although many members of the' Matamata club will be away over the holidays it is intended to hold a progressive pairs tournament on Boxing Day, when it is hoped that as many players as possible will attend. Play will commence at 10 a.m. Members are requested to invite any bowlers visiting the district to participate in the tournament.
