ANGLICAN BAZAAR.
A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. The Ladies' Guild of the All Saints' Anglican Church, Matamata, held a very successful bazaar in aid of the church funds on Friday. The bazaar, which was open all day, was well patronised by the public of Matamata and district, and it is anticipated as a result that the church funds will benefit to a considerable amount. The hall and stalls were nicely decorated with coloured ribbons and festoons, and the stage was furnished and used as a most cosy tea room. In the evening proceedings were enlivened by the Boy Scouts' Band, i which tuefully played a riumber of selections both outside and inside the hall. Selections were also played during the evening by an orchestra cbniposed of the following: Miss Kusabs (piaho), Mrs. R. Burke, (v'io~ lin), Messrs. M. Bates (cornet) and bass), H. Cleland (cornet), Sheppard (saxophone) and Beresford (drums), and their playing was much appreciated by the audience. A feature of the bazaar was the inI teresting side-show where the Scandinavian dwarf, "Mr. Begror," was on view. Mr. Brabiner was in charge I of this exhibit, and it was a source lof both profit and amusement. The stalls and the stallholders were as follows: Produce stall, Mesdames Mogj ford, Egan and Stewart;, plain stall, , Mesdames La Trobe, .Simpson, Reynolds and Arnold; fancy stall, Miss Garland, Messrs. Blackburn, Flower and Bosson; handkerchief and d'oyley, Miss Crowther; cake stall, Mesdames Cranswick and Chapman; sweet stall, Misses Mogford, Simpson and Prowse;; flower stall, Misses Reynolds and W. Duxfield; tea rooms, Mesdames Vincent,' Prowse, Robinson, Lewis and others; bran tub, Mrs. E. Edwards; shooting gallery, Mr. B. Simpson and assistants; art gallery, Mr. Watford. Quite a feature of the evening were the various weight-guessing and other competitions, and these resulted: Wheelbarrow, Mrs. Chapman; cake, Mrs'. Crabb; plum pudding, Mr. Mogford; box of chocolates, Mrs. Taylor; eiderdown quilt, Mrs. Armer;; tea cosy, Miss Garland; lace collar, Mrs. Egan; sheep, Mr. Blenrierhassett; pictures, Mr. Catchpole; kewpie doll, Miss Yardley; qake,,Mr. Emslie; turkey, Miss Montague; suit case, Mr. A; Skinner; jumper, Miss Frost; doll, Father Taylor; bacon, Mrs. Black; cake, Mr. B. Blennerhassett; ham, Miss McLeay; camera, Mr. H. Green. The management of the bazaar reflected considerable credit on the hard working secretary, Mrs. W. 0. Garland, and the members of the ladies' Guild. Assistance was also rendered by several of the male members of the church.-
