CONCERT. The pupils of the Omahine (Tc Poi) school gave an enjoyable concert recently but owing to the programme being curtailed through the death of : Willio Swap it was not quite what was intended. However, it was quite n success. | TENNIS. 1 W jiking bees of residents have dene good work in connection 'with the laying down of a sand tennis court at the school. The ladies of the district supplied afternoon tea at both bees. ! A concrete roller for the court was kindlv donated by Mr. T. A. Kemp. • The scholars will greatly appreciate ' the innovation. \ THE FACTORY. The output from the Tc Poi butter ' factory is now 55 boxes per day. This ii an increase on the output for the corresponding period of last season. A meeting in connection with the installation of a dual plant (additions for cheese manufacture) will be held shortly. • SCHOOL COMMITTEE. j A meeting of the school committee was held last week, there being present:—Messrs. A. Wright (chairman), F, Lansdowne, J. Priestly, W. Thomas and C. J. Cobhain (secretary). It was reported that the average attendance was 55 and the scholars were making good progress. Swimming classes wculd shortly be instituted for both boys and girls. These will be, held in a pool near the bridge on the Tauranga road. Arrangements were made for the opening of the school tennis courts. The secretary submitted a balance-sheet of the concert and dance, which showed a credit of ,£S 14s 2d. It was decided to allocate £!} of this for the purchase of material for school games and the balance towards augmenting the school library. It was stated the' latter amount would carry a Government subsidy.
