THE FARM.

The addition of six two-year highgrade Jersey heifers, from high-pro-ducing stock, was made to Messrs. Tomalins' herd, Overdale, last week. They came from a Waihou Jersey herd which averaged well over 4001 b of butter-fat per cow last season according to both factory and test returns', and the mothers of these heifers gave respectively 4501 b, 4901 b, 5211 b, 3741 b, 4871 b and 4.131 b of butter-fat for the season. The sire of the heifers is Monella's Noble and they will be mated by Messrs. Tomalin to a pedigree bull of the Belvedere strain. Thus some excellent^ high-grade Jersey cattle may be expected from this herd in the future.
