LICHFIELD ROAD METALLING.

Ratepayers in the Tokoroa riding are doubtless wondering why the metalling of the Lichfield road, as provided for under the £IO,OOO loan, is not being started. A good explanation has now been given and it is that the riding councillor, Mr. K. S. Cox, ha?, decided to wait until the Government subsidy anticipated for this road has actually been voted. This will prob ably be in the next Estimates.
