CLEARING SALE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd, held, on account of Mr. W. H. Mi!liken, a successful clearing; sale of his stock at Tirau on Wednesday. Favoured by a fine day and a {rood attendance of buvers, bidding was exceptionally keen, and practically everything was cleared. Jersey heifers, mostly bred by Mr. H. Maiuiel, Morrinsville, sold well, 55 averaging’ £lO 10s per head. 1 Nine Jersey heifers sold on behalf of , Mr. Mil liken averaged £l2 10s. highest price was paid by Mr. E. L. Robinson at £lB I Os. The same buyer mu’chased another at £l7, as did also Mr. .T. O’Loughlin. Among the largest buyers were: Messrs. Rush Bros., E. 1,, Robinson, Mark Harrison, W. E. Clark, F. C. Kennedy, F. IT. Scott, W. C. Vincent, W. Halliday, J. Amoore, ,T. O’Loughlin, and J. Ambury. Jersey heifer calves were purchased by Mr. E. J. Brown at £7. Part of the line was withdrawn. MORRINSVILLE. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s stock sale at Morrinsville on Friday attracted only a moderate yarding of beef. T here was little change in the prices but fat stock were a little higher. A line of 200 dairy cows sold on behalf of Mr. A. McCollough, of Taranaki, were all quitted at satisfactory prices. The top price realised for heavy fat ewes, ,’Hs l id, was the best experienced at Morrinsville for some time. The following are the prices:—-Sheep: Heavy fat owes, Mis to 31s lid; ewes in lamb, 245; fat lambs, 21s. Beef’: Fat bullocks, £7; heavy fat cows, £4 15s to £5 2s; lighter, £3 to £4 10s; freshconditioned cows, £2 to £2 17s fid; store cows, £1 2s to £1 8s; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 10s; yearling heifers, £1 10s to £2 2s; yearling steers, £1 Is to £1 8s: steer calves, 15s. Dairy cows: Best Jerseys, £ll 10s to £l3 10s; others, £7 10s to £9; best Holstcins, £ll 10s to £l3; others, £8 10s to £.10; best Shorthorns, £ll 10s; others, £5 15s lo £B. CLAU DELANDS. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s Claudelands sale on Thursday, May 24, there was a small entry of sheep and not. quite as largo an entry of cattle as usual, but pigs were penned in average numbers. There was little change in values, except that beef sold a little better. Prices were:—Fat steers, £0 15s to £7 ss; one extra prime heavyweight steer realised £ll 2s; fat cows, £2 14s to £3 8s; killable cows, £l 15s to £2 10s; other cows, £1 2s to £1 12s; calves, poor quality, 5s to 235; best dairy cows and heifers, £8 to £10; good, £5 to £7 10s.
