MAUNGATAIJTARI’S VALUE. Petition to Parliament. The question of having the bushcovercd area on the upper slopes and top of Maungatautari reserved as a natural rainfall eondensor was brought forward again at Wednesday’s meeting of the Matamata County Council by Cr. E. J. Darby, who stated that a petition from the wide area concerned was now in circulation and if necessary would be backed by a deputation to Wellington to emphasise to the Government the importance of the matter. The -Council decided to renew its application for the area to be made a reserve and decided to ask all the Waikato members, of Parliament for their support in the matter.
