POLITICAL NOTES.

Mr Malcolm Larney addressed a well-attended meeting at Waiomo (Okoroire) on Wednesday last, and was accorded a vote of thanks. A vote of thanks and confidence was proposed, but the candidate stated that he would prefer the confidence on election day. Mr W. C. Hewitt addressed meetings at Mamaku and Te Koroaon Monday and Tuesday. Continuing he had very good meetings at Kibikihi on Wednesday and Te Kawa' on Thursday.

There was a record attendance at the Hon. W. H. Herries’ meeting at Matamata on Friday night. The member .received a great reception, and at the conclusion of his speech received a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.

Mr W. C. Hewitt will address meetings at Omahine school on Thursday night, Hinuera on Friday afternoon, and Waiomo on Thursday evening. The IJon. W. H. Herries held a successful meeting atTuranga-o-Moaua on Saturday night. He will address meetings at Okauia this afternoon, and Mangawhere (Taihoa) to-night, Wardville on Tuesday afternoon, and Waharoa at night. On Thursday night he will be at Walton.

Mr Malcolm Larney addressed a large meeting at Waiomo on Thursday night. He was accorded a vote of thanks, refusing a proposal for a vote of confidence, stating that he would rather the latter went into the ballot-box.
