STOCK SALES.
WAIHOU. The yarding at the Waihou stock sale last- Friday was not up to the usual standard in poiiit of numbers, hut there was a good representation of all classes of stock, with the exception of beef. Wanner pigs made up to £2 11s, small sorts to £‘2 2s, sows to £0 11s. Fresh-dropped calves made 5s each, small yearling steers to £2 ss, 15-months steers to £4 17s, 15-months heifers to £5 lWs, 2-year steers to £9 for good colours, others to £7 7s 6d, 2-year heifers to £9, fresh-conditioned 3-year heifers to £l2, dairy cows to £lB, a pedigree Jersey 2-year heifer, just calved, made £BO, other well-bred Jersey heifers to£l9.
:-- - mUTtRINSVILLE BULL SALE. There was a large yarding at the .Morrinsvillo bull sale yesterday, and a good attendance of buyers. Shorthorns were most numerous, and there was a good demand. The quittity, as a whole, was uot up to last year’s standard, but there was no falling off in prices for good' animals. Mi J. M. Fitness, of Patetonga, topped the market with 27gns for a 3-year-old bull, Mr H. Grcville got 26gns for a 2-ycav-old animal. Mr E. 0. Whitechurch, of Tahuna, bail entered 27 yearling and 2-year animals, which made from lOgns to Kigns. Other prices were from Mgiis.to 23gns. Though only a few were yarded there was brisk bidding for Jerseys. Cyril Flower, a purebred bull bred by Mr CL Lewis, of Okoroire, and entered by Mr 11. Grcville, was bought by Mr W. Dan-all, of Tutuanui, for Ofigns. Two yearlings bred by Mr Dernier, of Motumaoho, brought digits and 30gns. Other animals sold to 17gns. Holsteins were not in favour, and made fiom Bgns to 13Agns. There was practically no demand for Horefords, two 2yoar bulls penned ly Mr A, Orr being sold ut l2gns each. MATAMATA. Extra large entries were recorded at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s monthly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday, and the attendance was good. The entries in the dairy class were below par, anil prices corresponded., A bullock sold by Mr W. W.- Livingstone realised £23. Priceß were :—Sheep: Fat hoggets 375, fat ewes 37s 4d, store ewes 28s to 25s 6d. Cattle . Prime fat. steers £23, lighter £lO, heavy fat cows £ll to £ls 12s 6d, lighter £ll 11s to £ll 17s Od, fresh-conditioned cows £8 18s to £9 4s, store cows £6 5s to £6 1 Os, 3to 31-yr steers £l2 to £l2los, yearling steers £4 2s Od to £5 9s, smaller £2 15s to £3 10s, yearling heifers £4 17s to £5 2s, smaller £2 10s to £3 Bs, small yearling heifers £2 to £2 ss, empty heifers £7 to £7 15s. Dairy stock: Forward heifers £l3 5s to £l6, smaller and backward £9 15s to £l2 10s, best cows £l7 to £2l 10s, others £lo.los to £ls, Pigs : Weaners 22s Od, slips 35s to f.2 10s,
