In order to celebrate the homecoming of Privates Charles and Dan Casey from active service, an evening was tendered to a large number of Matamata and Waharoa returned soldiers by Mr D. Qa3ey, at his residence, Waharoa, fihis week. There was a large number present, and a most pleasant evening Was spent with song's and anecdotes. Before the gathering dispersed Mr J. Burke made a very pleasant and appropriate speech.
