PUKETURUA
The annual meeting of the Puketurua Dairy Company took place on Tuesday evening, Aug. 12th, and a large nunber of suppliers and intending suppliers were present. The chairman, MiBent, in his report, stated that the cheese sales amounted to £4071 6s 3d as against £4526 for the previous season. The decrease was due to the bad autumn experienced last season, the factory closing earlier than other seasons. The average payment for butterfat already paid was Is 8d per lb- The following directors were elected for the forthcoming year: Messrs R. A. Bent, chairman, W. Barnett, L. Hildreth, J. Dodd, W. Cowan. A successful social, the proceeds to go towards building a hall at Puketurua was held on Friday evening, there being a large attendance from Waotu and surrounding districts. Mr Morse has now fully recovered from the accident which befel him while working in the tunnel at Arapuni hydro electric power scheme. Some bullocks and fat cows owned by Mr Bent, Puketurua, were amongst those that realised top prices at Westfield fat stock sale last week,
