Mr P. Rushton, of Tntnanui, has purchased 25 grade Jersey cow f s from Mr ITaseltine, of Elstow. Mr Rushton paid £25 each for them. The animals are a very fine class of cattle, and Mr Rushton states that some of them have tho best blood in the Dominion in them. Among tho herd aro progeny of His Majesty’s Fox, K.C.8., while some are of the noted Syke breed. Several of the herd are still milking, and Mr Rushton received a surprise the other day when the milk-tester at the Tatuanui factory informed him that one of the cows had tested 9.4. The milk-tester was convinced of tho accuracy of the statement, having tested the milk several times with the same result, Mr Rushton expects tho cow to test 6 in tho height of the season. Mr Rushton has purchased 333 acres atTe Poi, whero he intends to milk 60 Jerseys, including tho recently purchased herd. Mr A. TI. .Porrott, of Waitomo, will take charge as manager of the now farm, which formerly belonged to Mr A. Begg.
