OKAUIA.
The local branch of the Fanners’ union held its monthly meeting last week. After the usual routine business had been disposed of Mr McAlpine gave an address emphasising the need of co-operation and Parliamentary representation. The annual school picnic on Friday was held in splendid weather, and the children had a fine time with their races, games, etc., the committee having been well supported with the necessary subscriptions. The Sunday school anniversary on Sunday was a bright and pleasing function, the singing of the special hymns giving pleasure to all. Mr Boagey, of Matamata, gave suitable addresses.
