WALTON.

The annual general meeting of the Public hall subscribers was hold last wook, Mr W. McLean being in tho chair. A musical programs was rendered by Miss Myra Ross, Mrs Wade, Miss Martin, Mr Mclndoo, Mr Walker, Mr Waller, and the school children. The secretary, Mr L. Mapp reported upon the years work, which was in every way very satisfactory. r i ho balance sheet showed that tho hall was only soino £l4 in debt, and it was hoped to wipe that off during the coming year. A new committee comprising most of the old members was elected, and a vote of thanks passed to the chairman. Tho dance following was well attended, and a most enjoyable time was spent. A farewell evening was tendered to Mr and Mrs H. E. Cuff, (manager of the Hereford Park estate), about 50 freinds being present. Games, cards, music and dancing was the order of tho evening. Mr Dixon and Mr Attwood, referring to the many qualities soon in Mr and Mrs Cuff, expressed rogret at the loss which will he felt by their departure from the district, and wished them both good luck in their new sphere. Supper, singing of “ Auld Lang Syne,” brought a very pleasant evening to a close.
