MATAMATA RACING CLUB.
Races to be Held. A general meeting of tthe recently reformed Matamata Racing club was held on Monday evening, Mr J. Price presiding. About thirty members were present. The offer of a lease of a course on Mr W. W. Livingstone's property at a nominal rental was accepted. OFFICERS. The following officers were olected:—Patron, Hon W. H. Herries M.P.; president, Mr J. Price; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Livingstone, W. C. Ring, J. S. Browne, J. Pohlen, S. Mason, A. Weeks, P. Quinlan, F. Gibson and Geo. Johnstone; judge, Mr S. Mason ; Assistant judge, Mr D. Morrow; starter, Mr W. Egan ; clerk of scales, Mr Jas. Finnerty ; clerk of course, Mr W. S. Ruthe ; treasurer, Mr W. Egan, auditor, Mr G. G. Bell; secretary, Mr A. G. Yardley; committee Messrs Livingstone, Vincent, Bottomley, Burke, Smales, Bell, B. C. Taylor, Geo. Johnstone, W. Crabb, J. Timms, O. Stanley, J. Ryan, S. Mason, W. Casey and S. Banks', stewards, Messrs Vincent, Livingstone, Burke, Johnstone, S. Banks, O. Stanley and J. Timms. The annual fee for membership was fixed at £l.
A programme, with prize money to the total of £l5O was drawn up and approved of.
