Whilst in Putaruru he took a keen interest in the district’s affairs, and was ever willing to lend a hand in anything for its progress. He • was generous, sympathetic and a thoroughly reliable man who will be missed by a host of friends. The deceased leaves a widow and grown up family, a member of which is Miss E. Ibbotson, typiste for Messrs Hampson, Bell and Davys of Matamata, to mourn their loss. The funeral took place at Cambridge on Monday, and was attended by a number of mourners from the Putaruru district.
