Alatamata Tops Poll. • fvV"-' . t ~. . # ;• 1 '.i-: The Matamata County Queen Carnival campaign concluded at 8 p.m. on Monday evening last after a running period of eight weeks. ■ The result generally was much as was anticipated by a number of people although the amount secured by the Matamata town district and Peria queens were larger than were expected. The Matamata riding on the proportionate basis raised more than either of the other ridings and thus the Matamata queen, Mrs F. M. Darby, became queen of the county. The—county, when the late returns are in is expeoted to go over £BOO over its objective, ans. raise £9,300. At present it is about £6OO over. Tirau (Miss Litchfield) £1,251. The latest returns from the riding totalled £1,365. ! \
