THE GREEN QUEEN.
Red Cross Shop. Great success greeted the supporters of the Green queen (Taihoa) in connection with the Red Cross shop, held in Messrs Stewart and Co's. rooms last week. Business was brisk throughout the day and in all £6O was taken, £2l of which was derived from the luncheon room. Several guessing competitions were conducted, the completed ones being as follows.: Sheep donated by Mr J. E. West, Miss Maxwell (Waharoa), and Messrs A. K. Weeks, H. Bunn, Cameron (Walton), tied. Lots drawn resulted in the latter's favor; cushion (375), donated by Miss M. Robinson, won by Mr J. Price; live turkey, donated by Mrs Holmes, won by Miss Millie Robinson. Two dressed turkeys, given by Mrs Allison, realised £1 5s 6d. The committee and ladies are deserving of congratulations on the work done and the success achieved.
