MATAMATA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

Executive Meeting. An executive mesting of the Matamata A. and P. Association was held on Wednesday, the president, Mr J. W. Simpson presiding. RESIGNATION. A letter was received from Mr S. Gnnn st.iting that he regretted he was unable to accept a seat on the executive.—lt was decided to accept the resignation with regret. Mr VV. S. Wilson, the next candidate on the list, was appointed to the vacancy. DONATION OF CUP. • A communication was received from Mr A. E.Porritt offering a cup for competition at the next show. It was decided to send a letter to Mr Porritt, regretting his departure from the district, and thanking him for his offer of a donation. On the motion of Mr Vosper, it was resolved that Mr Porritt's offer be accepted. Mr Banks that it be allotted as a points prize in the draught horse section, with- the object of encouraging general competition in the section. TENDERS. It was decided to call tenders for grazing the show ground for the next twelve months (for sheep only), the acceptance of tenders to be left to the president and vice-president. SHOW DAY. It was decided that the 1919 show be held in March, on the Thursday in the second week following the Cambridge show, and that the Morrinsville Association be advised accordingly. PURCHASE OF SHOW GROUND. It was resolved that the business of arranging all details in connection with the purchase of of the show ground be left in the hands of the president and secretary to carry out. As a result of some discussion on the question of acquiring more land, it was found that it was impossible for the association to add to its present holding at present. Mr Egan offered the association the free use of his front padlock, adjoining the ground, on show day, to be utilised as a paddock for horses or vehicles. It was resolved that Mr Egan's generous offer be accepted. Mr Vosper drew attention to the consistancy with which Mr Egan had rendered most liberal and generous assistance to the association since/its inception, particularly by placing his paddocks at the disposal of the association at show time. Other members spoke in the warmest praise, and it was decided that Mr JSgan be made an honorary life member.
