STOCK SALES.

MORRINSVILLE. There was a large yarding at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co’s sale on Friday. Fat steers sold well but store cattle were easy. There was an advance in the price of shoep, and as an indication a line of fat hoggets made 5s a head more than was realised for a portion of the line sold at the last sale. Dairy cattle were penned in large numbers, and for good animals there was an upward tendency in prices, but poor and backward sorts were not in keen demand. Prices : sheep, fat wethers 47s 3d for a line penned by Mr Gray, fat ewes 28s 3d to 30s Cd, a pen of choice fat hoggets yarded by Mr Scott made 295. Pigs, slips £2 2s 6d to £3, porkers £5 to £5 15s, heavy sows in pig to £8 10s. Cattle, a pen of fat steers yarded by Mr Drummond, of Walton, brought £lB, others from £ls 11s to £l7 6s, fat cows. £lO ss, to £l3 17s 6d, store cows to £7 lOe, store heifers to £6 15s, 18 to 20 months steers to £5 19s, 18 months to 20 months heifers £4 15s to £5 3s, calves mixed sexes £4 15s, good dairy cows made up to £l7 10s, and good heifers to £l6 10s fora Shorthorn cross animal jarded by Mr G. Howie. MATAMATA HORSE SALE. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. Ltd* conducted its annual horse sale at Matamata on Tuesnay, About 100 horses were offered. Although bidding seemed , dull anything of good quality was sought after. The highest price was realised by Mr F. Barugh fora draught gelding at £4O. Prices were: Heavy broken draughts £32 10s to £4O, spring cart horses (good) £lB 10s to £2l, hacks (good) £l6 10s to £lB, useful light horses £8 10s to £lO 10s.
