MATAMATA A. AND. P. ASSOCIATION.
Annual Report. The following is the report to be submitted to the annual meeting of the A. and A. Association to be held on Saturday. "In presenting the report and balance sheet for the year ending June 30th, 1918 your committee have pleasure in congratulating membars on the well-sustained interest and success which has attended the association's operations. The annual show, which was held on March 21st, proved a thorough financial success, particularly in regard to the gate takings, which were well in advance of the corresponding figures for last year. The returns from subscriptions, entries and ground space also show a marked increase, bringing the total of the show receipts to over £126 (or nearly 30 per cent) above those of last year. On the other hand, there is an increase in the show expenditureof over £BO (or about 20 per cent) on last year's figures, due, of course, to the abnormal and increasing . pressure of general war conditions. However, despite the handicap of heavy expenditure (which we have endeavored to keep at an absolute minimum), the show account shows a credit balance of £74 5s lOd as against £37 5s 6d for last. year. The committee would take this opportunity of thanking all stewards and others who have helped so willingly, both in preparing the show ground and in connection with the show itself; those who have so generously contributed to the prize fund, and those who provided paddocking or green feed for live stock exhibits brought from a distance. Isaac H. McNair, President."
