TURANGA-O-MOANA.

The Turanga-o - moana and Okauia Queen committee is now making every endeavor to get plenty of support for its queen, and money is coming in‘in support of the good cause. At Mr H. E. Porritt’s clearing sale on Monday a 3-year heifer, donated, by Mr Porritt, brought the satisfactory sum of ten guineas, being purchased by Mr Wake, Te Poi. At the same sale a guessing competition for a sheep, donated by Mr H. R. Harding, was also held, and the sum of £3 7s 6d was ■» collected in this manner by Miss A. Harding, assisted by Mr .J. Boulcott. The correct weight, was guessed by Mr M. G. Hollis, of Okauia, and the animal was given back for the “ Blue Queen.”
