PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.

At the Piako Council meeting Cr. cSmith said .'having sold his property he desired to tender his resignation as a member of the council, and thanked the chairman, councillors and officials for the courtesy and many kindnesses he had received. The chairman said it was with regret that the council heard of Cr. Smith's resignation. He had proved a careful and painstaking councillor, and the county had benefited through his services. He was sure Cr. Smith would carry with him the good wishes of the councillors and the ratepayers for his success. Cr. Walters endorsed the chairman's remarks.
