WARDVILLE.

A social evening organised by the Wardville branch of the Farmers’ union was held in the Wardville hall last week, and was particularly well attended. The branch secretary, Mr Rintoul, worked well for the success of the function, and his efforts met with the desired success. The control of the evening was in the capable hands of Mr J. Carroll, who attended well to those present. The music played by Mr and Mrs W. T. Darby was, as usual, all that could be desired. Extras were kindly and nicely played by Mesdames Biyth and Wade. A good concert programme was provided, among the artists contributing being Mr and Mrs Scott (Wardville), Miss Scott (Waharoa), Mrs Wade and Mr Costall (songs), and Mr W. T. Darby (violin solo). The social was most enjoyable, and was an excellent start off socially by the branch.
