It was also decided that a division of the county for working be made on the riding basis, and that each riding nominate a queen. Miss Litchfield had been nominated for the Patetere riding. The competition was to be riding against riding and the Matamata town area was included in the Matamata riding. It was decided to support the Tirau resolution setting the goal at £IO,OOO. The chairman explained that the County council, with the chairman of the Town Board had been appointed an executive but that sub-executives were necessary. The following were appointed : —Messrs Harding (Turanga-omoana), A. J. Tong (Waharoa), H. Sutherland (Okauia), P. Quinlan (Taihoa), H. Rollett (Peria) and a representative from Puketutu.
