ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH.

Presentation Ceremony. »■ ii ■ ■ m A very pleasant evening presentation function was held in St. Andrew's Presbyterian church on Thursday last, when the parishioners assembled to bid farewell to Mrs W. R. Free, who, with her husband, is shortly leaving the district. The Rev. R. W. Jackson, on ibehalf of the church, handed Mrs Free a beautiful coral and pearl necklace as a token of esteem. The minister spoke of the good work done by the recipient, and stated how much all regretted her departure from Matamata. During the evening concert items were rendered by Mrs Walton (song), Mrs Jackson (song), Mr J. P. Randall (song), Miss M. Free (recitation) and Master Free (recitation). A dainty supper, served by the ladies, brought the evening to a closo. ;
