Matamata Footpaths.
To the Editor. Sir, —I trust you will favor me with sufficient space in your widelyread paper for a few remarks of public interest. A go ahead policy on the part of public bodies is always to l e commended, and I am glad to i co that Matamata is not behind m tins respect, The artificial lakes and running streams now adorning the foothpaths in this town are, I believe, to be stocked with Paradise ducks; but might I also suggest that some young - trout also be obtained from the Government hatcheries, the cost of sumo to ho mot out of rates. {Should there bo any difficulty about the latter suggestion, I have no doubt that if canvassed the business people would be only too pleased to subscribe liberally for this purpose. Trusting that an alder pen than mine may take the matter up. —I am, etc., “ RATEPAYER.”
