PERIA.

On Friday afternoon last the committee and a number of the parents of the children visited the Mati school for the purpose of bidding farewell to Miss A. M. Blennerhassett, who, after three years service, is leaving to take up a position in Hamilton. The chairman (Mr H. Rollett) briefly explained the objects of the visit. Fie then read a testimonial which he presented to the teacher. Miss M. Day, as senior scholar, then presented Miss Blennerhassett, on behalf of the scholars, with a solid silver manicure set, after which three cheers were heartily given for their teacher. Thanks were returned by Mr Blennerhasset on behalf of his daughter. Afternoon tea was then dispensed by the visiting ladies, and a most enjoyable afternoon brought to a close.
