CLEARING SALE.
ME J. POHLEN'S HERD. A clearing sale of Mr J. Pohlen's dairy herd was conducted by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency company on Thursday, when another record was attained. The herd of 4(> cows averaged a fraction over 20 guineas. The highest bid was reached for a Holstein knocked down to Mr P. Quiulan at 27 tms. The biggest buyer was Mr T. Kenealy, of Te Awauiutu. Other large buyers were Messrs P. Quinlan, J. Fitzgerald, W. Bundle and W. Darragh. Six springing heifers realiaed 15| gns each.
