PAIRERE.

A deputation waited upon Mr E. C. Banks, at Tirau last week, to bring before him matters pertaining to education in this district. Mr J. W. Anderson explained to Mr Banks that the population of the district had grown largely and the school itself was now far too small to accommodate the scholars. Allowing ten square feet for each child the school could only accommodate 26, whereas there were 30 attending. Mr Banks suggested that a letter be written to the Education board on the matter, and assured Mr Anderson that the representations would receive his full support. The are indications that a Shorthorn record will be put up by a cow from this district for the season.
