FOOTBALL.
Single 6, Married 3. The return football match, Married v. Single, was played at Matamata on Saturday, the result being a win for the single men by three points. The game was far superior to that played a fortnight ago, both teams showing a certain amount of combination. From the two teams it should be possible to select fifteen men, who, with practice, will be able to worthily represent the district. In such a team on the two games played North, Adlam, Mason, Sweetman, Bodley, T. Douglas and Scott (married), and Stewart, Partridge and Findlay (single) should be sure of places. Matamata v. Kereone. The following team has been selected by the selector, Mr D. Scott, to play Kereone next Saturday in the Matamata recreation ground : —Full-back, J. Wallace ; three-quarters: Sims, Adlam, Findlay ; five-eighths : Partridge, Scott; half, Stewart; forwards: D. Harding, T. Cotter, R. Blennerhassett, W. Brindle, S. Holmes, H. Sutherland, |H. Bodley, S. Kert; emergencies: Sw r eetman, F. Connell, J. Morrow, Radford, L. Connell.
